Richland Elementary Here is some good information provided to us by Miss Amy Elementary is Pre-K-6thTitle I Preschool program with transportation K-3rd does Reading First (basically the first 90 minutes of the day our spent with the focus on reading with no outside interruptions) We have a reading specialist go into those classrooms. 4th-6th are eMINTS classrooms (computer based classrooms where basically every two kids share a computer)Smartboards in every classroom The whole school does a power writing program AR for 1st-6th. Every quarter those meeting 100% of their goal will get to go on a field trip plus earn points to spend at the AR store. Special Services available for those that have an IEP---one teacher specializes in Autism. Gifted program upon approval---Keyboarding classes (2nd & 3rd)Choir 3rd-6th Art Club---upper grades PAT (parents as teachers program) birth-K Speech Pathologist on site for those with a speech IEP Every class has a yearly field trip. Trips to the public library every other week. After school reading two nights a week. Every grade has two classrooms except K & 1st---they have 3 to offer more individual attention while they're learning how to read----class size roughly 24Title I Math & Reading 1st-4th grades Rewards for meeting AR goals, perfect attendance, reading Mark Twain books (lunch with the librarian), honor roll, & b-days.
